Welcome to the spot we've carved online, a place where the students and creators of the Ishi exhibit may share with you our personal stories, pictures, and the things we like.
Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
It’s quite amazing to look back and see what the cave looked like in its initial stages of construction.
These are two art majors in our class. Putting together an exhibit is truly an interdisciplinary collaboration. Patrick and Megan are standing in front of the mural they worked on, and what a lovely piece of art they’ve created!
Michelle has been working on Ishi’s cape and is taking a break to look at the computer. This is her last year here at Cal State University Chico, and is thinking about going to Europe next summer.
Just so you all know, Claire is going to be somewhat of a regular around here. Not only is she fabulous with a drill in the museum, she loves to take pictures (she also blogs on her own tumblr, but you’re going to have to ask her to give you the link).
Ok, here’s the 720p HD version of the dance performance. If you go to full screen mode, I don’t think it automatically plays in HD. At the bottom right of the view screen you’ll see either 360p or 480p- press this and then select 720p from the pop-up menu. Cheers!
This is Will, who’s now entering into his fourth year working in the museum. He’s the go-to guy when you need help with exhibit construction, and if you can’t tell from his beaming smile, a cheerful bloke!
Meet Kyle. Now in his final year at CSU Chico, he’s taking the exhibit class for a second time. We’re just now getting into the museum, and starting to rearrange the walls and panels to fit our Ishi exhibit. Oh, and all those vinyl letters need to come off (which is why I believe Kyle is up on a ladder).
Dia de los Muertos was celebrated today on campus, and here’s a video of some of the great dancing performed.
